originally released three years ago, this is the collectors reissue as part of sushitech s 15th anniversary celebrations. invisibility is the second album of cristi cons and vlad caia s sideways invisibility theory project (aka sit). this pack containing all the tracks from their album, both chapters one and two, pressed on a limited coloured vinyl. it features a quintet of trippy, low-slung late night workout seemingly designed to operate in the cracks between house and minimal techno. there is a natural subtle variations throughout - a nod to dub techno here, a psychedelic acid line or dreamy deep house texture there - but thought, their focus remains firmly on only early morning workouts - modern classic!

reissue - k-hand, the undisputed -first lady- of detroit house and techno, continues her series of rereleases for some of acacia records most sought after catalog. acacia s reputation as music from a well known place to an unknown destination precedes it with a reach that is once again being expanded upon. originally making its mark in 1993, -not giving up- is a piano chord led number with eccentric disco era falsetto vocals interspersed between a house diva counterpart, all undercut by equally classic rough around the edges low end - touching on hand s influences from the new york golden days. the plastic dream mix is a more sinister springboard of sounds with an urgent energy sure to rip through speaker stacks and leave audiences in shreds. easily its dreamiest incarnation, the disco dream adaptation lends itself to bouncier, filtered grooves and vocal dubs. the ghetto growl of -beat that bitch wit a stick- was and still remains a huge track for k-hand and the label. pulling from a sound that originated in chicago, it became equally prominent in detroit through the work of hand and others. its accompanied here by an instrumental version for those that don t share in the street logic, but nonetheless love the gritty production style. finally, the legendary claude young s mix of - deep down 2- sees him implementing wavering chords and loopy vocals with a purposefully loose nyc stutter

sound exhibitions’ first metamorphosis compilation with seven serious groovers.

this is a very limited run of 250 copies. mystical circles is a brand-new imprint with its eyes firmly on the dancefloor. the label s first missive comes courtesy of island times deejay, a dj/producer/re-editor previous best known for his dj mixes, which were uniformly full of obscure, hard-to-find disco gems. we have no idea what the source material is for either of the edits here, but they sound like caribbean disco records. disco smoking is unfeasibly heavy, driving and stomping, with mazy horn solos, jazzy funk guitars and hazy vocal snippets riding a booming bassline and sweaty, non-stop drums. dawson street is a more relaxed, and rubbery affair, albeit one rich in chiming melodies, spacey synth solos, winding sax lines and elastic bass guitar. as the welsh would say: tidy!
